Mental Illness Awareness 5k
October 3-9, 2021 is Mental Illness Awareness Week. The past 2 years have shown us the importance about raising awareness and ending stigma around mental illness more than ever. Mental Health Resources and our community partners are holding a 5k to raise awareness of mental illness. This year as restrictions have been reduced we plan to hold a live event October 9th. For those who are not local or who wish to complete the walk virtually there is that option as well.
The in person walk will be held October 9th and will start at our 1621 Sutter Place office. At 10:00 AM the 5K will start and travel around Greene Acres Park and ending up back at our office.
Once you have signed up you have from October 3rd until October 9th to complete your steps and submit your results. You can go out and run the distance you sign up for all at once, you can track your steps at work, or you can hop on the treadmill and track your distance that way. If you sign up for the virtual event, you will be provided an email to submit a picture or screen shot of your walk.
All participants will receive a medal and t-shirt for completing the 5K will get a medal and t-shirt and on the day of the walk we will also have other promotional items available before and after the race. If you are completing a virtual walk we will use the email you provide in the registration form to send you a notification where to pick up your items or when they are mailed out.
